Camp Arcoora Experience, Australia
April 27 - May 13A$580
Camp Arcoora in Kyogle, NSW, Australia (Guli-bal country of Bundjalung Nation) is hosting a 16 day experience from 27 April to 13 May 2021.
Camp Arcoora’s goal is to facilitate inspiring, practical experiences of caring for the earth for campers, so that they may leave empowered with new skills, community connections and a refreshed and positive perspective to making ecorestoration a way of life!
For the April 2021 camp they are partnering with local landcare initiatives to restore Koala habitat. Campers will participate in creating baseline data to begin the camp’s inquiry into the effectiveness of their ecorestoration efforts over time, doing soil carbon testing, biodiversity surveys and more. There is lots to learn together!
Time at camp will include working in the agroecology gardens too, where the team is growing food and experimenting with different approaches to regenerative agriculture.
There’ll also be space for art, creativity and connection, with mindfulness, connection with the forest, and for moving creative energy through the arts – dance, music, art, writing and more.
Campers will be welcomed to country by an Arcoora friend and local Guli-bal elder who has a deep connection with the land and offers guidance with his indigenous perspective and knowledge of the land.
Visit the camp page to view the Camp Handbook for more information, and to sign up!
